Precautionary vaccine for COVID: BMC asks beneficiaries to reserve online for slots from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Even though the health ministry said eligible beneficiaries did not need to register to take the precautionary dose of the COVID vaccine, the BMC said on Sunday that they should book online for their slots at from January 10.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, in a statement, said eligible people can reserve their slots for the vaccine at https://cowin.gov.in. They must also produce the certificate issued to them after taking the second dose at the vaccination center.

The vaccination centers will remain open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

As per the state government announcement, frontline workers, healthcare workers and the elderly, who took the second dose of the vaccines nine months ago, are eligible for the precautionary dose.

On Friday, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that eligible people do not need to re-register and can directly make an appointment or go to any vaccination center for the preventive dose of COVID vaccine.
